The PH series WAFER connectors exhibit significant differences in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) protection and structural design compared to shielded products. The PH series is known for its compact design, using high-purity phosphor bronze contacts with gold plating technology. It meets the UL94 V-0 flame retardant standard while also maintaining low contact resistance, making it suitable for space sensitive scenarios such as consumer electronics and medical equipment. Shielded connectors achieve electromagnetic interference attenuation capability of over 30 dB through fully wrapped metal shielding layers or tin plated copper alloy contact frames, meeting the requirements for industrial grade EMC performance in the GB/T 5095 series standards, and are particularly suitable for high interference environments such as industrial automation and vehicle systems. In terms of mechanical adaptability, the PH series often adopts a direct insertion structure, with insertion and extraction forces controlled within the range of 0.5-1.5 N, while shielded products usually require a locking mechanism to enhance seismic performance due to the addition of a shielding shell. The insertion and extraction force range is increased to 2.0-3.5 N. It is worth noting that the protective cover and sealing ring components of shielded connectors need to form a continuous conductive path with the shielding layer to avoid EMC performance degradation caused by structural gaps.
