Analysis of the Structure and Material of female header

The female header is composed of an insulated shell and metal contacts:
Insulation shell: Made of high temperature resistant engineering plastics such as PBT, PA6T, LCP (UL94V-0 fire rating), ensuring no deformation during wave soldering or reflow soldering processes. The shell comes in various colors (black, white, natural color), making it easy for engineers to distinguish different functional modules.
Metal contact: The main material is brass (C2680) or phosphor copper (C5191), and the surface is nickel plated and then covered with gold, silver, tin, etc. to enhance conductivity and corrosion resistance. Contact design is divided into three types: U-shaped, Y-shaped, and O-shaped:
U-shaped contact: 3 contact surfaces, with the contact point located at the top to ensure signal transmission stability and avoid momentary interruption.
Y-shaped contact: 2 contact surfaces, suitable for scenarios with strict space requirements, such as ultra-thin devices.
O-type contact: The contact point is centered and has excellent anti vibration performance, commonly used in automotive electronics.
